PLANTATION DRIVE IN GMC, KHAMMAM

PLANTATION DRIVE IN GMC, KHAMMAM

Considering the manifold benefits of trees, including that they release oxygen into the air,  absorb unpleasant odours as well as harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide from the air and purify it,  protect us from dangerous ultra-violet rays, provide us with food and the pivotal role played by trees in preventing soil erosion, maintaining ecological balance and most especially in lessening the effects of global warming, the Government Medical College Khammam conducted tree plantation drive in college campus and Hostel Premises to provide pleasant environment which motivates the students to focus on there career.

Tree plantation is not just something that should be done; instead, it is a necessity, the urgent need of the hour. Planting of trees is especially important to protect our environment against air pollution and global warming. To this end, our young volunteers have been actively involved in organizing tree plantation campaigns.

WHITE COAT CEREMONY (WCC)

WHITE COAT CEREMONY (WCC)

The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage for medical students and was created by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation in 1993. During the ceremony, a white coat is placed on each student’s shoulders and often the Hippocratic Oath is recited, signifying their entrance into the medical profession.

“In Government Medical College, White Coat Ceremony is held before we begin orientation, so this was the first time Students meet there classmates and interact with Head of the Departments. This instantly surrounds by warm, interesting individuals who were eager to establish a strong sense of camaraderie in the class. The speakers emphasized that they are not just students, but physicians-in-training.

Everything they learn over the next four years plays a direct role in how they help patients. The best part from my White Coat Ceremony was that even though medical college is tough, they are surrounded by family, friends, mentors, faculty, and peers who see potential and will.
