Rajeshwar Rao (Principal), Medical Scientist Dr. C. Saritha (Vice-principal), Clinician Dr. L. Kiran Kumar (Medical Superintendent) and faculty members follows. Agenda for this meeting was "MELASMA" Melasma is a common skin problem caused by brown to gray-brown patches on the face. Most people get it on their cheeks, chin, nose bridge, forehead, and above the upper lip. It is more common in women than men. Pregnancy is a common cause of melasma.
The World Vitiligo Day, observed on June 25, is an initiative aimed to build global awareness about vitiligo. Vitiligo occurs in 1–2% of the population worldwide; a change of color in the skin creating a variety of patterns on the skin from the loss of pigment.
NATIONAL LEPROSY DAY
Leprosy Awareness Day, also known as World Leprosy Day, is held annually on the last Sunday of January globally, with India observing it on January 30th (Martyrs’ Day), to raise awareness, combat stigma, and promote early diagnosis and treatment for leprosy (Hansen’s disease). Initiated by Raoul Follereau in 1954, the day honors Mahatma Gandhi’s work with leprosy patients and educates communities that the disease is curable with antibiotics, encouraging compassion and inclusion for those affected.
